LONG/LAT
GCPs are NOT converted to "LONG/LAT" by GCPWorks for the following simple
projections units:
- "UTM" (Universal Transverse Mercator) with a zone
- State Plane ("SPCS", "SPIF", or "SPAF") with a zone
- "UPS" (Universal Polar Stereographic) with a zone
- "GOOD" (Goode's Homolosine)
GCPs are NOT converted to "LONG/LAT" by GCPWorks because they are not
reprojectable:
GCPs ARE converted to "LONG/LAT" by GCPWorks for the following non-simple
projections if the "Mathematical Model" selected for the "GCPWorks Setup"
panel is NOT "Satellite Ortho Correction":
- "ACEA" Albers Conical Equal-Area
- "AE" Azimuthal Equidistant
- "EC" Equidistant Conic
- "ER" Equirectangular (Plate Carree)
- "GNO" Gnomonic
- "GVNP" General Vertical Near-Side Perspective
- "LAEA" Lambert Azimuthal Equal-Area
- "LCC" Lambert Conformal Conic
- "MC" Miller Cylindrical
- "MER" Mercator
- "MSC" Modified Stereographic Conformal
- "OG" Orthographic
- "OM" Oblique Mercator
- "PC" Polyconic
- "PS" Polar Stereographic
- "ROB" Robinson
- "SG" Stereographic
- "SIN" Sinusoidal
- "SOM" Space Oblique Mercator
- "TM" Transverse Mercator (Gauss-Krueger)
- "VDG" Van der Grinten
GCPs saved to disk as LONG/LAT and used outside of GCPWorks may have to
be reprojected with the GCPPRO program. For example, the following steps
would be required for producing "TM" GCPs for the SRORTHO program:
1. "TM" GCPs saved to disk from GCPWorks would be converted to equivalent
"LONG/LAT" coordinates.
2. Convert the equivalent "LONG/LAT" GCPs to the output "TM" system
with GCPPRO.
3. Use the "TM" GCPs produced from GCPPRO as input to REG.
